Replacement Brushes for Vacuum Motors

Vacuum motor brushes wear down over time with use, and need to be replaced for the vac motor to operate properly. These components conduct electric between the wires from the motor's rotating shaft in order for the electric vacuum to operate. The coils of the rotor must be connected to complete a circuit. Brushes are made of graphite that provides high resistance. Some manufacturers may try to extend brush life by adding some type metal into the brush material, but wear will still occur over time. The vacuum brushes should be replaced before they wear down and cause damage to motor, so they should be inspected as part of a regular maintenance routine.
